One of the keys to a successful relocation process is being able to anticipate the needs of relocating employees to provide them with the information they want in a seamless manner. Sometimes, this involves the use of technology—relocating employees and HR staff alike say they want a relocation account manager who is available via phone, email, text message or instant messenger at any time.
More frequently, it just means employees want a relocation account manager who will be a friendly and knowledgeable voice on the phone during business hours. And, even more importantly, that individual will be able to provide the information they need as employees realize they need it—or before, making it accessible at any time.
In an article in the April issue of Mobility magazine, IMPACT Group's Research Department Team Lead Justin Burnett said, “Most people don't know what they need until they need it immediately.”
IMPACT Group of St. Louis, Missouri, recently released a list of the top 10 needs of relocating employees and their families. Two out of the top five responses related to finding jobs for relocating spouses, with requests for information about employers in specific industries and information about temporary staffing or recruiters ranking number two and four, respectively.
Number one on the list? Demographics and crime reports.
Demonstrating that quality healthcare in a new community is a top concern, 393 respondents said they wanted information on physician or dentistry services. Rounding out the top five, not surprisingly, was information about local schools.
A relocation management company has the tools and connections to make all this information, and more, available to your company's new recruits and relocating talent, so your HR staff can focus on other matters.
